公民黨：不要被「篩選論」蒙騙，還港人真普選

港區人大代表兼基本法委員會委員譚惠珠聲稱《基本法》已列明，2017年普選特首，提名委員會是以「委員會」即機構作提名而非成員，聯合國《公民及政治權利公約》有關普選是「普及而平等」選舉的條文，不包括提名權及被選舉權的普及平等。
公民黨直斥有關言論是繼續偷換普選概念，聯合國人權事務委員會完成審議香港公民和政治權利狀況，剛剛公布結果，明確表示普選須符合《公民及政治權利公約》第25條所定的標準，保證所有香港市民在選舉制度中，都享有公約中所指普及而平等的投票權及參選權。委員會關注，當局未有清楚計劃去保證候選人資格不會受到不合理的限制。（註1）（”Hong Kong, China should outline clear and detailed plans on how universal and equal suffrage might be instituted and ensure enjoyment by all its citizens, under the new electoral system, of the right to vote and to stand for election in compliance with article 25 of the Covenant.”)
《基本法》第39條已經確認《公約》對香港的作用，並要求中國及特區政府有責任向國際社會交待香港人權狀況。事實上，過往總有意見繼續否定聯合國的人權機制，也一定有人故意藉扭曲《公約》去誤導公眾，但這些小動作是不合邏輯和自討沒趣的。既然香港要實行普選，就得接受有關方面的監察和批評。因此，倘若中央和特區政府漠視聯合國人權委員會對普選的權威解釋，一意孤行在2017的行政長官選舉中堅持一些扭曲普選的制度，結果只會惹來國際社會譴責，更因罔顧對公約的責任而自毀聲譽。
公民黨指出，繼中央官員明示暗示行政長官選舉將有篩選後，各保皇派已用盡方法透過輿論和應「篩選論」，意圖欺騙香港人，將早已承諾的普選變成一場大騙局。公民黨促請中央履行「港人治港」的承諾，信任港人，讓市民一人一票選特首；而特區政治亦應立即展開政改諮詢，解決社會深層次矛盾，不可了無期限拖下去。
