兩電年年賺到盡，市民負擔永無盡
經濟發展事務委員會於今天舉行會議討論「與兩間電力公司進行周年電費檢討」，公民黨及香港市民同樣關注是次兩電加價申請。每年電費調整應基於不同因素決定，政府必須嚴格審視兩電的財政狀況、各項開支的合理性及巿民的負擔能力，決定兩電的加價申請。
現時香港通脹持續，百物騰貴，巿民生活亦捉襟見肘。用電是每個家庭不可或缺的消費，而有關加幅將嚴重影響巿民日常開支，令巿民生活百上加斤。故此，公民黨強烈要求政府體恤巿民，嚴格審批電費的調整程度。
公民黨希望政府與巿民共渡時艱，別讓通脹惡化，不要讓巿民捱貴電，做到急巿民所急，紓解市民的通脹壓力。
公民黨立法會議員陳淑莊認為現行的電費計算模式並沒有鼓勵用戶節能減排，反而鼓勵高用量用戶增加耗電。電力公司應該考慮全面檢討現行的電費計算機制，引入更多鼓勵用戶節能減排的措施。在進行有關檢討時，電力公司也需要考慮有關制度的任何修訂對中小企業和小商戶的影響。
