和平選票起義

公民黨留意到最近對有關「五區公投、全民起義」廣告的討論。我們必須指出，五區公投運動倡議的是「選票起義」，市民就「盡快實現真普選，廢除功能組別」這項關鍵議題表態，展示香港市民對爭取民主的決心和承擔，要求改變現時不公義的政制，整個過程絕對是和平、理性和合法的。

現時立法會內的既得利益者不願意放棄政治免費午餐，形成了民主進程的障礙。儘管民主派在立法會代表大多數民意，但仍被無理、不民主的議會限制為少數，十多年來動彈不得，難以推動政制改革。五區公投運動的本質正是希望透過和平、理性和合法的程序，創造機會讓廣大市民直接參與，以投票表態，彰顯「盡快實現真普選，廢除功能組別」的全民訴求，共同突破政制改革的困局。

公民黨黨魁余若薇更表示：「五區公投運動是鼓勵市民用選票起義，以和平、理性和合法的方式爭取普選。今次五區公投運動為廣大市民而設，重點是公投的議題，大家可以運用手中的一票，聚焦及清晰地就議題表態，並藉此啟動一場以全民參與為核心的新民主運動。」
