律政司打壓愈大 社會更形撕裂

13名示威者因為2014立法會財委會審議東北撥款會議期間的示威行動被捕，被裁判法院裁定非法集結罪名，判處社會服務令，但律政司以刑期過輕，申請加刑，要求法庭改判眾人監禁刑期。上訴庭今早作出裁決，13名被告全部改判入獄，除黃根源因認罪而被判8個月外，其餘全部要入獄13個月。

公民黨重申，13名示威者不是東北居民，不是為了個人利益或榮辱而參與這次示威，他們亦並非打算用暴力手段宣洩不滿，而是為了社會上不公義的事情發聲，值得體諒。

公民黨認為，法庭量刑考慮的因素眾多，拿捏的準則和寬緊的程度也有所不同。律政司透過覆核刑期向示威者窮追猛打，無助緩解社會矛盾，愈大打壓只會帶來愈大反抗。
