暴力對待和平集會 蓄意留難被拘捕者 譴責警方淪為政治打壓工具

七月二日清晨，警方破紀錄拘捕511名和平請願的人士，七月一日五十一萬人遊行後，市民晚上於中環進行和平集會，表達對民主的訴求，政府不但無視數十萬市民的民意，更使用警方作強烈的打壓。

在清晨的清場過程中，警方多次使用不必要的暴力對待和平請願者，警方更多次驅逐現場的記者，意圖掩蓋警方的暴力行為。

同時，被拘捕者於被拘留期間，在部份人士長時間被困於旅遊巴上，或不獲警方提供飲食，亦被「行政手段」留難，剝削與律師會面的權利。警方以各種手段剝削市民應有的基本權利。明顯，警方已淪為政府的政治打壓工具。

就此，今日公民黨到灣仔警察總部請願，對此表示強烈譴責，並要求警務處處長立即向公眾作出交待，並停止任何政治打壓。
