歡迎完整保育 期待政策檢討
促請政府完善文物保育

政府當局今午公佈放棄把何東花園列為法定古蹟以及完整保留政府山，把原中區政府合署西座撥予律政司使用。本人認為政府當局這兩個決定對香港的文物保育政策起着重要的意義，更是檢討香港的文物保育政策的契機。保留原中區政府合署西座更是公民黨自2009年起一直爭取的目標。為此本人：

1. 歡迎政府當局回應公民黨及保育人士長期的訴求，完整保育政府山，希望政府當局盡快公佈有關的具體安排。同時，期望政府交代政府山範圍內綠化地帶的處理，並按照原來的建議設立公眾休憩地帶，讓市民分享這個重要的歷史保育區；政府亦應盡快考慮根據Purcell Miller Tritton於2009年發表的「中區政府合署建築群文物保育研究」的建議，將政府山劃為特別保育範圍(Special Protected Area)。

2. 理解政府不把何東花園列為法定古蹟的決定，但認同政府當局就保育私人擁有的歷史建築的政策進行檢討，要求政府當局盡快開展有關檢討工作，以及在完成檢討後公開有關報告。

3. 期望政府當局繼續關注文物保育政策，積極制訂更多措施，例如落實設立文物保育基金，並立即開展有關工作；政府當局亦應推動社會就文物和文化保育展開討論，並根據民意訂立全面的政策。
