港鐵近期事故頻仍　政府監督不力

昨天，港鐵再次因電力系統故障，東鐵粉嶺站出現電力故障，導致列車服務嚴重受阻；由於正值下班時間，大批市民受影響，港鐵站塞滿候車乘客。港鐵在短短十天日內發生三宗涉及電力系統的嚴重事故，令市民感到憤怒。

港鐵連年加價，服務質素不但沒有改善，甚至事故頻仍。去年政府加入懲罰機制，如港鐵延誤31分鐘或以上的，可被罰款100萬元，上限為1,500萬元。但罰款機制對港鐵的阻嚇力不足，港鐵高層亦應減薪或扣減花紅。

在去年6月至今，港鐵已發生九次嚴重事故，其中六次造成嚴重延誤，令公眾非常失望。

就此，本人已於今天去信運輸及房屋局局長張炳良教授，要求向公眾交代；及去信立法會交通事務委員會主席陳鑑林議員，要求儘快召開特別會議；公民黨亦希望儘快與局長會面。當局應立即交待如何加強監督港鐵及檢討現行的懲罰機制。
