郭榮鏗回應政府向法庭申請禁制令

有報道指今日（10月14日）律政司向法庭申請禁制令，要求法庭頒令禁止任何人佔用或包圍21個已婚警察宿舍及紀律部隊宿舍一帶的公路，以及禁止任何人破壞宿舍建築物及阻擾宿舍使用者，包括不得以鐳射筆等工具照射宿舍住戶。
郭榮鏗認為上述禁制令多此一舉，借用法庭之手在現行的罪行上多加一條「刑事藐視法庭」罪行，實屬架床疊屋。蓋本港法例第228章 《簡易程序治罪條例》中訂明的多項罪行，以及普通法中的公眾妨擾罪，其實已經涵蓋大部分律政司在入禀狀中列舉的行為。
郭榮鏗指出，是次禁制令的目的是將針對警方的抗議行為刑事化，客觀效果是將警察的特權進一步擴大，加深市民與警察的對立。郭榮鏗再次敦促政府應該認清問題的根本，市民對警方的抗議、不滿及憤怒源於警方多月以來的濫用暴力及濫捕。因此，答應民間五大訴求，包括成立獨立調查委員調查包括警方不當行為，才是解決現時社會問題的正途。
