郭榮鏗回應蒙面法立法

基本法委員會副主任譚惠珠今日（9月24日）表示，需要盡快訂立蒙面法以禁止示威人士蒙面。公民黨立法會（法律界）議員郭榮鏗認為，譚惠珠之流惟恐天下不亂，為求達到一己政治利益而不斷為現時的社會狀況撥火。郭榮鏗重申，公民黨不贊成訂立法例禁止蒙面示威，認為不設實際。
郭榮鏗認為，現時市民的訴求非常清晰，就是「五大訴求，缺一不可」，特區政府以及相關親中人士應認清事實，而非試圖以法律去解決政治問題。倘若政府如譚惠珠所言，在立法會新一年開始後便就蒙面法立法，可以預見百萬群眾將再次包圍立法會抗議。
郭榮鏗提醒特區政府，哪裏有壓迫，哪裏有反抗；作用力越大，反作用力就更加大。任何人士如果試圖設立蒙面法的話，都只會注定失敗收場。郭榮鏗同時指出，政府及相關人士不應該再轉移視線，意圖淡化市民對五大訴求的堅持。唯一解決現時社會高漲對抗政府情緒的方法，不是進行所謂的對話，而是切切實實答應民間五大訴求。
