陳家洛就有關本港象牙非法貿易事宜去信黃錦星局長

黃局長：
有關本港象牙非法貿易事宜
漁護署今天開始以焚化方式銷毀約28噸走私象牙，本人歡迎特區政府的處理方法。惟政府數字顯示本港過去五年所破獲的走私象牙案件數目、所涉象牙數量和市值都呈上升趨勢，但被定罪的最高罰則，即監禁期，卻持續下降，事態發展令人擔心。同時，本港已成為全球象牙非法貿易熱點的第五位，不少象牙被運往中國內地及東南亞等地方。
就此，本人向  閣下提出以下查詢，希望  閣下能盡快作出回覆：
1. 有關銷毀象牙的行動，  閣下能否提供具體時間表和每次行動銷毀數量；
2.   閣下與有關當局未來如何與本地民間團體、相關國際組織，例如《瀕危野生動植物種國際貿易公約》秘書處，及各個國家，例如中國內地及東南亞各國的執法部門合作，以加強打擊象牙非法貿易及加強搜捕涉事者?
3. 有否計劃立法禁止本港象牙買賣行為；若有，工作計劃和時間表為何；若否，原因為何?
