要求聚焦研究免費幼稚園教育

免費幼稚園教育委員會主席鄭慕智今天會見傳媒，表示委員會剛到外地考察，現時的工作集中在研究數據和支援幼稚園的短期措施。今天亦有報章報道有免費幼稚園教育委員會成員認為推行免費幼稚園教育需花費巨額經常開支，傾向先研究「擴大」現行幼稚園學券制。本人認為上述態度表明免費幼稚園教育委員會完全是不務正業，未有積極研究和推動如何落實免費幼稚園教育。本人認為委員會現時仍然是在浪費時間和資源。

本人促請免費幼稚園教育委員會必須把研究方向和工作聚焦在如何推動免費幼園教育，而不是為放棄推動有關政策找藉口。本人提醒吳克儉，免費幼稚園教育是行政長官莊嚴的競選承諾，當局必須積極推動，教育局亦應撥出資源和人手，研究支援幼稚園的短期措施，讓免費幼稚園教育委員會集中精神，做好其核心的工作。

本人自本年展開有關方面研究，集中收集本地幼稚園的運作方式、所面對的困難和期望，現正進行第二階段研究。本人重申委員會應面向本地幼稚園、家長及教育界，就資助方式、師資和校舍設施等方面進行具體商議。
