陳淑莊：回應張舉能任命事宜

政府今早宣布接納張舉能繼任終審法院首席法官的任命推薦，根據基本法第七十三(七)條，有關任命必須獲立法會同意，而程序上須先交內務委員會討論。特首林鄭月娥強調，任命須爭取在立法會七月休會前通過，又批評內會至今未選出主席，將阻礙上述任命。公民黨陳淑莊批評林鄭將任命政治化，旨在挾司法機構威迫立法會，務求滿足一己政治企圖。

首先，有關任命是明年1月11日起生效，完全無迫切性在本屆立法會會期內通過。參考現任終院首席法官馬道立2010年接任情況，當年馬官在9月1日上任，有關任命6月9日才獲立法會通過，相距不足三個月，而政府宣布接納推薦是在4月初。首任首席法官李國能的任命，更加是1997年5月下旬才通過臨時立法會，距離同年7月1日上任只有卅餘天。
陳淑莊指按照相關時間表，留待下屆立法會討論，時間依然充裕，質疑林鄭居心叵測：「既然不迫切，唯一原因就是製造輿論，脅令內委會選出主席。但是，即使內會選出主席，都不會先討論張舉能任命，因為正準備上議程的有國歌法，甚至可能包括近期建制派已經公然自揭底牌的廿三條。這一切都是為了選前幫建制派助攻，為了向北京示忠！」
陳淑莊直指林鄭的說法除了腹裡藏刀，根本看不到有任何合理理據，「目前的政治僵局是源於行政霸權，如果林鄭還有絲毫良心，就不要將司法機構捲入政治爭拗，否則將損害公眾對司法機構的信心。」
陳淑莊也留意到，馬道立指在立法會同意任命前不宜作進一步評論，批評林鄭「講一大堆政治論述後，就說馬官都認同，三權之間應該互相尊重，各司其職。」
