公民黨對《鼓勵就業交通津貼計劃的推行情況》綜合意見書

去年2月財委會通過一筆為數49億9500萬的撥款，用以推行鼓勵就業交通津貼計劃，而其中佔8.5%是行政開支。當時政府估計全港合資格人士約40多萬人，並預計首批申請會達到20萬，可惜，計劃運作超過半年，申請人數卻未見踴躍，截至現時只接獲2.5萬個申請，當中僅1.6萬份申請成功，遠低於政府所預期。

政策出爐至今，社會不斷有優化計劃的聲音，如要求降低申請門檻、簡化申請程序、實行雙軌制、檢討津貼金額和將求職津貼納入計劃之中等，希望讓更多低收入勞工和基層人士受惠，減輕外出工作的交通開支負擔，可惜以上建議一直未被政府採納，反觀現時計劃反應如此冷淡，政府確有反思的必要！
