公民黨就「2017年7月1日實施的公眾街市租金調整安排」意見書

政府當局於 2017 年 3 月 14 日提交文件予立法會食物安全及環境衛生事務委員會就公眾街市檔位租金調整機制作出討論。會議上，議員一致通過三項無約束力動議，建議局方擱置加租計劃，支持繼續凍結公眾街市檔位的租金。公眾街市過往由前市政局及前區域市政局提供，目的是滿足社區需要。不過，多年內政府當局並未妥善經營公眾街市，商販的經營環境十年如一日。尤其，自房委會將大量公屋商場和街市出售予領展，政府當局無法阻止領展大幅加租，導致部分地區物價高漲，更加重市民負擔。故此，公民黨認為政府當局在並未改善公眾街市的經營環境前，應繼續凍結公眾街市檔位的租金，作為抗通漲的最後防線。
